What is Faith?

It is the confident assurance that what we hope for is going to happen. It is the
evidence of things we cannot see. (Hebrews 11:1)

Assurance

It means the foundation. A house built needs a good foundation. The foundation used
in this world will not last, but the believer's Foundation-Christ will stand
forever.

Assurance also means title-deed, which shows a person owns something. The title-deed
shows that the one who holds it can never lose what he owns. It also means a
guarantee of things hoped for. Our hope of seeing and being in heaven is guaranteed
because we have Jesus in our hearts.

I hear Christians say "I got saved again". This is something like reincarnation, a
person dies and comes back something or someone else. I sat with a man one time and
he said, "You know what, I was Elvis in my former life?" I told him, "Sorry, but
that's a lie from the pit of hell!" God's word says,

As it is appointed unto men once to die,
but after this the judgement. (Heb.9:27)

There is no man that hath power over 
  the spirit to retain (keep) the spirit;  
neither hath power in the day of death... (Ecc.8:8)


Even when people say they see ghosts, it is not the one who died they see. The one
who died stands immediately in the Presence of God and is sent either to hell or
goes into heaven.  It will depend on how a person prepared while he was alive on
earth,  by taking Jesus as Lord and Savior.

So many Christians are in bondage. They think they have to do things for God to be
accepted by Him. If they do wrong once, then they feel God will reject them. Many
live in fear, that when they die they won't go to heaven.

 They don't realize that all they have to do is rest on the Foundation-Jesus Christ,
and His finished work on the cross. They need to realize that God looks at Jesus,
not the person. God looks at the covering of Christ's righteousness and blood. Yes,
we work for the Lord, but we do it because we love Him, not to make Him accept us.

As I travel down the highway, I don't worry, because I'm well covered by a powerful
insurance company-Manitoba Public Insurance. I hold a title-deed which shows it
stands with me, I have registration papers. So as I travel down the highway of life,
I'm well covered by a more powerful covering- the blood of JESUS, Praise the Lord!  I
don't have to guess whether I'll make it to heaven, I'm covered and my name is
registered in the Book of Life.

               ...but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven. (Luke 10:20)

If you were once a Christian and you backslid, the Father still loves you and waits
for you to come home to Him. You don't have to come and be saved again, just come
home and say as the Prodigal son, "Father, I have sinned against you, I'm not worthy
of your forgiveness". He will take you back, wash you in the blood, dress you in a
new robe, and restore you as His child who has come home. God will say:

    For this my son was dead, and is alive again: he was lost, and is found. And they began to be merry. (Luke 15:24)

 Dead here means, dead to the things of God, lose interest in the Word, church,
prayer, and fellowship with other believers. Alive means a revived love for the
things of God, a backslider returns to his Father and is on fire again.
